Psychology

Psychologists are doctoral level, licensed independent practitioners who evaluate mental health and stress-related issues, and provide both consultation and on-going counseling for patients experiencing difficulties that affect interpersonal, vocational, or emotional functioning. At PVMG, the psychologist assists patients with personal adaptation to illness, and with stress management procedures to promote physical and mental/emotional wellness. The PVMG psychologist also provides specialty services to help patients with addiction recovery, trauma/abuse recovery, and problems of depression and anxiety. The psychologist consults with cardiologists, oncologists, internists, family physicians and other specialists concerning care and recovery of their patients.
